stage 1

Post by guardianangel »

I've just triggered a stage 1 review for having 4 weeks off after an injury my first time sick in 10 years is it inevitable it will be issued or is it manager's discretion.

Down to manager's discretion though in practise it'll probably be issued anyway

If its been recorded as an accident then you will not be given a stage warning.

Technically incorrect

You can have an accident and be negligent under foreseeability of harm

If a manager doesn’t show discretion with an impeccable sick record like yours then that’s out of order in my opinion.

Yes you are right, if op was blame-worthy then it’s a different story.

Id put money on the stage being issued. Discretion is a thing of the past, not that I ever encountered it.

People are far too emotionally involved in all of this.
Your past sick record and your time keeping are immaterial.

You have breached the levels of attendance expected of you (which are clearly outlined in the procedure) so you have been given a gentle reminder of what they are and what is expected of you going forward,
Nothing more. Nothing less.

Clash is right if a little sarky :chuckle
Mitigation is not a previously unblemished sick record. As far as the attendance procedure is concerned that's immaterial.
Mitigation would be injuring yourself while rescuing a child from a burning building.
Probably still get the stage but it's mitigation.

And Simon wonders why postman play the system. It's a system they've created. All absences are genuine='all stages are issued'
