Absence procedure

Post by miata »

Hi,
It says that sickness due to accident at work is not counted as a regular sickness and not included in the attendance procedure. Does it count later on? For example if I have been off for a month due to accident at work. Didn't get any stage for it. But after 2 months I go off sick for another reason, would that month be counted and will trigger stage 1?

Once it's struck off it is off, yes screws may bring it up but a rep should easily stop it from being used against you.
It will always be on your record but it should then be discounted for future stages.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It really makes me angry these Royal Mail/CWU agreements always being open to interpretation/abuse from management. The key being.

"Should be/Will Normally be Discounted"

An example of absence through a pregnancy related or disability related condition which is covered under the Equality Act 2010

The first question you mention is an accident on duty
Did management say you were Blameworthy for your injury while doing a root cause analysis of the event?

My interpretation of the wording is if assaulted on duty, Brick falls off a house, another vehicle causes injury through their negligence

The good news is if you get compensation for any injury once liability is proven, they then remove any absence reference from your attendance record as any wages received by Royal Mail will be repaid back through their insurance company.
