Receiving overtime money whilst off sick

Post by Matt22 »

Hi,

I’m currently signed off sick and have been for a few weeks, and as I’ve only been at RM for half year, I’m just getting basic statutory sick pay.

The issue I’m having is that I’m owed 9.5 hours overtime from work I did earlier in October, however my line manager says he’s unable to pay this to me whilst I’m on SSP?!

Does anybody know if this is the case? It seems a really odd rule. I phoned ACAS who said they’ve never heard of any incident like this before.

How do I raise this issue with someone other than my manager I.e Hr, my managers boss etc

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Probably ,your manager is a lazy Toad and can’t be bothered to find out what he needs to do differently.
Contact HR (number on back of wage slip)and explain your situation ,they will advise you what next steps to take.

It will involve you contacting your manager, mentioning you’ve contacted HR and asking to submit payment asap.

If nothing gets sorted after a couple of weeks ring HR again to put in a Grievance.
