can a manager transfer a person in from another office on their current contract without asking part timers if they want the hours first?
ie 30/35 hours but part timer wanting more hours
should the union rep be letting it go thru

Without knowing all the details it is impossible to say.
If your office had a vacancy then why wasn't your rep pushing for those hours to be filled internally?
If there is a reason the person was allowed to transfer, it might remain confidential and you will never know.

Yes, seen it a few times, full time incoming transfer, higher seniority as you'd imagine, end up on a half decent duty.
Reason for transfer is a bit hush hush and not mentioned at the time but it becomes apparent later.

I’ve just transferred into an office with full time hours and a fair chunk of seniority. From what I gather if the hours are there then they will transfer you.
