Wiful delay and D2Ds
I was in the DOM's office this morning for a reprimand for not prepping this weeks D2Ds on saturday when I finished before my time. He told me that he could sack/suspend me for wilful delay for not doing it. Smelt like BS to me but is it?

Prepping as in filling the frame. Rep was in the office and didn't say a word against him.

Re: Wiful delay and D2Ds
i was told once that if in the frame it was considered live mail, therefore delivered that day, and i never put mine in the frame anyway
either way he's talking bs, yes he can request you do something to fulfil your hours, but threatened with the sack?
have you registered with the new workplace site? things like this can be reported, though not anonymous i think, but he needs reporting

Re: Wiful delay and D2Ds
Just to clarify, I hadn't been requested to do it. There was no manager in the office when I got back in on the saturday.

Re: Wiful delay and D2Ds
If you finish early it's up to management to give you more work to last up to your finishing time,if there is no one there when you get back tough.
They could have told you to prep in next weeks d2d's if you finish early on the Saturday before you went out that day.
You could have decided to do it without the manager telling you to i suppose.

Under the 'new way' aren't we supposed to put them all in on a Monday and just warm call throughout the week - so that's loads of live mailworld class male wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 21:24i was told once that if in the frame it was considered live mail, therefore delivered that day, and i never put mine in the frame anyway
...........
left in the frame, just sums up the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing in the ivory towers of RM management.

Get a new rep, your manager just threatened and lied to you for nothing.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Next weeks d2d are next weeks work, not this weeks.

LOL. Of course there wasn't a manager in when you got back in on a Saturday, they probably all bogged off around 10.30 if it's anything like our shithole.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Re: Wiful delay and D2Ds
Just to be pedantic, there is no wilful delay anymore, might want to remind said screw of that...

We have also clarified the definitions of delay as there has been some confusion between wilful and unexcused delay.
This has led to unnecessary action being taken. The new definitions will support managers in making the right decisions.

Re: Wiful delay and D2Ds
Why did you go into the office without your rep. Is that wise?
