Hi
I am being pressured to change my duty days, and i do not want to..
Im currently working from home, doing extra day to cover hours on contract, as i dont get my bags till about 9.30ish.
Im a 23.5 cover over 3 days.
I work 4 days from home since covid.
Dom/section manager putting me under pressure to change duty days, so i get every sat and mon off while they double lapse on those days.
No one will take lapsing on sat and some only on mon and no packets hardly as when these my days off, so i will get shed loads
plus my life evolves around my days of/duty days and has done for last couple of years, i have been able to work some of my days off but now with medical apps and such like opening up i will need those days
Can they make me change my duty days? im going to say no but where do i stand, anyone know?

They can request you to you as it is for the needs of the company, However you dont have to clear what is left if the lapsing dont go out, if you get double post the next day, work till you time, clear what you can and what ever is left over is your Doms problem.
Just phone them and tell them you wont be able to clear when the mail bags get to you.Take a rep with you if they get difficult.

Why would they be allowed to change your days of attendance?
They can request whatever they like, but you don't have to comply if it is inconvenient.
Get the rep to put in a disagreement and make them take it through the proper channels.
I would want at least 28 days notice.

Re: can i be forced to change my duty days, or is it coerced?
Thanks for your comments they have been very helpful, Ive been told by the union rep that I cant stop the process of management changing my duty days to suit what they require, but that I should request a date of say middle of June as an appropriate period to make adjustments. The rep[ did say if i really wanted to annoy them I was in my right to request a full month to make necessary adjustments.
Incidentally, the rep said to the best of their knowledge, they were not expecting a return to normal from the 21 June, like many are hoping for, rather they said, with indian variant at large, people still getting ill and the virus still very much at large, not everyone vaccinated etc etc (their words, not mine), they think and have heard that a semi return to normal is planned, masks indoors, one person in vans (maybe two with personal consent), etc etc
thanks again, any more comments gratefully accepted
