Re: being a rep ? what are pros and cons
From my prospective, pros not many if you are doing the job correctly. But self-satisfaction of helping others. Cons going slightly more doolally than I already was and a divorce. Then passing on the baton to otherswhat are pros and cons of being a rep?

Re: being a rep ? what are pros and cons
Every day as you walk in the door you are accosted by at least half a dozen people who think they are being bullied because they are being asked to do some work.
Ignore them all, the people who really need your help will give you time to get a coffee before approaching you.
Once in a while you'll be offered a biscuit. Don't take it. It's probably poisoned.

Pros - sometimes you get to stick it to the man.
Cons - they will never forgive you for it.
Cons - it is like being a primary school teacher

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: being a rep ? what are pros and cons
Cons, being expected to achieve the impossible, defend the indefensible, agree with everyone's expectations of working for RM, and get the guilty exonerated; if you can't achieve the last you're clearly the most useless rep there ever was.
Pro's.. that'll need some thought.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
