A bit of background.

Since July last year I've been dealing with neurological issues, possibly MS, possibly something else. I'm still awaiting a final diagnosis despite having 4 MRI scans.

Following recent inclement weather, it now looks like the roof of my mortgaged house is needing replaced.

I really can't afford such an outlay, (House is ~70 years old)
My situation is that IHR / Dismissal on capability grounds due to ill health may still be happening soon, and I really didn't expect to have to be getting roof replaced (Potentially £5k for new roof. Next door neighbour in the terrace house is also replacing his soon, so probably cheaper to get both done at same time).

Is this something the Rowland Hill Fund would deal with?

I do have some savings (under £10,000), however if I do get dismissed due to ill health, but without IHR lump sum, I'd need to be able to survive off that until I can either get a different job depending on my health, or claim appropriate benefits.

Certainly I could do without this!

Why do you think you would get IHR without lump sum, everyone that is IHR'd gets it.

From another post who sums it up well...

The IHR payment is fixed for all staff but can be different depending on service. It pays out 34 weeks pay to everyone which is untaxed. It also pays lieu of notice taxed. For most people this would be 12 weeks but might possibly be less fo people with short service. For a full timer with a longer service it works out about £21k.

My last occupational health appointment said he could not recommend me for IHR due to me not having a diagnosis. My fear therefore is I get dismissed on capability grounds, rather than through IHR.

With regards to roofing, I'm getting it funded by extension to mortgage amount..
