Change of contracted hours
Hi hope someone can help please. I’ve recently reduced my hours from f/t 38 hours to p/t 32 hours. The change started this week W/c 29/3/21. But just had my wage slip and I’ve been payed the part time wage. I thought we worked a week ahead of payment, so my first part time wage would have been the following week. Asked the manager who says he has contacted hr and we get paid for the week we’re working and only overtime is payed the following week. Is this correct? Thanks in advance

Re: Change of contracted hours
We don't work a week behind.
The pay you received today is for this week.

Re: Change of contracted hours
Yes this is correct, I dropped down from 39 hours to 31 and thought the same thing until my manager pointed out that when I first started at RM I was paid the first week & didn't work a week in hand.

Re: Change of contracted hours
Do we get new contracts if we come down in hours and if so will these new contracts expect you to work sunday's as oppose to it being voluntary at the moment.

Whether it will stipulate over seven days will depend on what is individually agreed with the business, some of our guys who've downgraded their contract are on fixed days.
The whole "voluntary" part is a red herring, the agreement states "initially voluntary" with no fixed definition of initially.
