union rep goes against union

of course a rep can express his or her opinion - but he or she should not be a rep if they do not believe in trade unionism/collective action and that means no-one should cross a picket line.

Unions are about sticking together to improve our terms and conditions !

As for ''Militants'' wanting confrontation for the sake of it - I have never met anyone who wants confrontation for the sake of it but I do believe we have some ''militant '' managers who want to destroy the union.

seen this in another industry , there is belligerence and miltancy from the glorified union reps with the mandatory chip on the shoulder in suits who've crossed the line . Just a different twist on things , Politics goes round in circles , you can be so far out that you meet the other side round the back.
