.

The hct duties only cover 1 duty at present
If the hct duty gets added into 3 persons covering 4 duties (which it will)it will no longer be hct but van share
And you are correct it would be impossible to put hct over 2 duties
You've got me thinking about that, would the plan be the same script as van share in that two of the three people would do a hct duty each as now but on alternate weekdays, the third person would do parcels and 1c for the other two duties obviously in a van, then swap round the next day etc.
I always assumed that would be the way it worked. The only downside from the company’s point of view would be that while they could get rid of 1 in 4 duties that currently cover the HCT rounds they would have the expense of providing an extra van for every 4 HCT duties.

There is nothing that RM can axe that they don't then bring back years later. Collection on Delivery came back. Sunday working came back. The union has talked about bringing bikes back. Have patience.

How about bringing back the final salary pension scheme?
And a NRA of 60?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

A single box per duty is enough to cover 1st class and a bag full of small packets. The problem is convincing RM to spend any money accommodating just 8000 non-drivers who they'd sooner see leave or compel to drive. If your duty still has a standing pouch box and the keys haven't been lost in the intervening 15 years, then you are in the minority.

The second problem is inefficiency. We tested this again today and the callrate was 7%. Without acceleration (ie, a bike or a van) you spend most of the time walking between delivery points. It's nice, but that's how I know the company will veto it.
