Well it should be tomorrow but it could be as terse as "the talks are continuing and some progress has been made" which could mean they have made inroads in the pie stock at Greggs.

Following a report given to the Postal Executive yesterday, it has been agreed that negotiations should continue and the Union has accepted an offer from the company to grant a final 7 day extension to our Industrial Action ballot. This means that the ballot will remain legally valid until 27th November 2013.

So in my eyes that is Tomorrow,The waiting is doing my brains in,No doubt everyone elses too.

Tomorrow at Mid-day Royal Mail will flick the switch. Moya will turn into a princess, managers will have their own switch flicked from bully to motivator mode. Parcels will be renamed to Packets, our uniform will turn from red to blue, we will all be allocated our own walks with a maximum of 3.5 hours delivery span. 40,000 cycles will be airlifted back from Africa. Fck it I just woke up.

These revisions from the Deal Of the Century are all bad, everything about them. Inefficient and unworkable. To save a packet van and a minibus to drop people out offices have taken on a load of unsuitable vehicles (but not enough to cope with the breakdowns/servicing needs/reduced numbers of mechanics), a load of mainly unused trollies, forced people to work together in a job that is far easier done solo, and management have to use the lowest tactics to try and force people out over their time and lapse without even looking at the traffic figures or consulting the rep.

I'm not in London btw.

making time has been the CANCER of this job.people coming in miles before there start times and showing the so called managers they can do there job and as for the pay deal if you think that this pay deal will stop royal mail from being like dick turpin your all living in cuckoo land.all this does is give the top bods of this union another five years of jolly ups.get the union reps back on the work shop floor instead of the guys looking for them in the managers office with tea and custard creams.when you have union reps walking about saying what can i do its out of my hands.give back your two hours a day overtime they give you for meetings and bring the union back to the floor and understand the problems.KEEP THE FAITH

Good post and very true, we are a ticking time bomb with the Union being the fuse.

Generalising does not help!
If your rep is doing what you say then get your name up for the post, if they are cuddling up to management you have a right to ask them to explain themselves. If you don't like the reason speak to the relevant branch secretary!
There are avenues which you can go down if you are not happy with your rep just stop the general bashing of reps.

Good noble post but just like to add that many managers are ex union stewards hence the innocent comments, my view is there are more good stewards than the very small majority of bad ones.
Fuse comment has been coming ever since Moya took over.

the "deal of the decade" can only be voted in by deliveries, as they outnumber everyone else by 4 or 5-1.
So if or more likely WHEN it gets voted in who will get the blame, deliveries? No of course not !
Any and everyone else?? probably.
Generally those that post on here are preaching to the already converted, get out there and make a difference locally.
I can honestly say i am yet to meet anyone who voted for "the deal of the century" yet here we are.
IMHO our delivery revision agreements should contain a caveat like... those who come in early will be conduct coded, also those who do not use the tools for the job IE private cars will also suffer a similar fate.

I know this may sound unreasonable but as a lowly local rep who is here to represent everybody equally. I, you, we do not need to have people cutting every corner imaginable in order to finish early, and by doing so show up everyone of their colleagues to RM as lazy slackers. Let RM think that they've been tucked up by the rep, and so want some form of retribution.
Why give these people enough rope to hang us all, why not stop them in their tracks and only let them have enough to hang themselves.
Put the onus back on the firm to chase these people up and find them more work.

It might concentrate minds, just a thought.
