The walk outs in 2003 were inevitable once the RM managers revealed their true face and the petty spitefull vendettas started.

RM could have virtually destroyed this union if they had the sense to control their managers,thankfully they didn't and enough members had the balls to show the bastards that we weren't a busted flush.

It was a classic case of the rank and file taking control of the union and showing union hq how to win a fight.

There was a leaflet being distributed at the time which I've spent ages looking for and finally found it.

POSTAL WORKERS' GUIDE TO ACTION, NOW AND IN FUTURE http://www.ainfos.ca/03/nov/ainfos00040.html According to the Guardian it was a split & unhappy workforce, RM took it as a green light, all those bent fit ups on reps that would have been laughed out of court , Leighton told one BS to stay out of one sacking.Problem was AG's being threatened with thier TCs being terminated if they striked . Mail Centres didn't help to quote a Keggieite area rep " Go on strike to lose money when we can get more money?!". Leighton and his sort like a bit of anarchy but it backfired when people saw exactly what his senior mgrs & area are really like. I voted for but a lot of people were very relieved in the mail centre.

Its not confirm yet but I have been told that Crozier is here in Mail Centre Oxford and talking with cwu reps. Strike is still on and there will be staff meeting tomorrw at 1100hrs. So far Oxford Mail Centre is affected but other 12 delivery officers are working .

Aparently the rep she's suspended is Indian , if they sacked him, it'd be a double whammy in a ET

OXFORD MAIL CENTRE don't get me wrong, I love what you're doing and hold a high respect for you doing it, but let them take your "grace breaks" and other petty little things and get back in before they start talking about temp or part time contracts, for your own good. . . . . . . with any luck you can get back just in time for wednesdays official walkout and then let the rest of us take over from then on.

You have solidarity and good workmates, you should be proud of that but don't shoot yourselves in the foot . . . . . . the very best of luck to you all
