Yes us White and Red rose counties are going to stand solid behind the union I think.

There is a RM DOM called Boggie 40 on the going on about a split in the Union ranks,"thick postmen in suits letting you all down", RM didn't spend two years trying to play people up against the Union for nothing!, but splits are what RM want. If it was up to AL/AC there would be @ the worst a "sweetheart" union, or a staff association to do pensions, benefits etc. AL's Walmart , they "avoid" unions.
I have seen dodgy reps with the RMT , the usual stereotypes & horror stories, like with the CWU.
I do agree with some points about the leadership. The left wanted rid of Keggie as they saw him as another wannabe politican like Johnson. My view is , the "corrupt" right wing old guard of the RMT got you something ! in the circumstances , given the bigger picture. Jimmy Knapp had uses for Crowe as a negotiater.
My view is both sides have backed themselves into a corner and it's another Mexican standoff, the handling is poor on both sides, however AL/AC are basically the hired hachet men, otherwise it'd be villified New Labour Ministers like Nurse Ratchet/Patronising Pat.
The bigger picture is Neo-liberalism/swing to the right in Europe, New Labour , DTI V Treasury , Brown V Blair, are we all pawns in bigger games?. I'll probably be attacked for this but I'm trying to go down the middle. If the CWU act amateurish they will be treated as such , maybe a top down/ bottom up reform and inquiry is needed.
My apologies lads for the three submissions of the same message, I mistakenly thought there was a Network Problem with either Virgin Media or the web server, 1 submission failed , I should have been more patient as the general error in sending obviously righted itself .

If we go on strike, and lose a lot of customers,it won't be the 40 hour guys who lose out,but the other guys who are on casual or part time contracts who lose out. Then who is gonna cover you full timers days off.Seriously think about it guys,it's no good to strike.Love me or hate me,sorry.
Motley, it makes no difference whether you are out on delivery or inside proccessing, take a look at the next few letters you handle. Look at the top right hand corner, do you see a stamp or a mark of an "S"????
The mail wont be handed to the competition as we deliver all the competions mail! We strike, their mail sits in our mail centres. All the competition want is the lorry loads of mail theycan trunk up and down the motorways, they are not a bit interested in getting the letter through the letter box.
There is the arguements on indoor that the CWU have done nothing for the part-timers, it's all about FT Docket men, one Area Rep said it's not collusion with management , it's a failure to manage, take a trip to Asda ;see if any of thier staff are represented. This all happened after FT time staff presented a petition about AGs doing ad-hoc 40hr night shifts , another case was a now sacked manager telling P-T staff you are being reduced from temporary 40hr nights to 20hr because of F-T staff going to the CWU , to try & run this place. The worst indoor scenario is the shifts "boys clubs" with thier neopotism, corruption & favourtism but prospering as long as it's Yes Allan, No Adam, the most malign influence I've found is the wannabe CMA reps not the CWU as some would have you believe elsewhere., miltancy with a different twist. There's been quite a few reps threatened which is a Tribunual Offence. All I'm saying these are not uncommon perceptions of the CWU & they need dealing with.
