There are massive issues in every office but I still wonder why i pay union fees.
The amount of times due overtime has not been paid is astonishing. I refuse to work over my time as a result, but still get subjected to the usual rubbish by the lazy management.
(Can you help us out?) Erm no as not guaranteed to get paid.... plus picking up kids from school and having a life e.t.c
The managers in my office work a rota of getting away early but each have the cheek to ask to flex/lapse every day.
Most postmen/women who work overtime struggle to get the pay they deserve to balance the books meaning they look squeaky clean.

The office is a shambles top to bottom and going by the other offices striking see this as a delivery office dilemma across the country.
Has it changed since introduction to new way of working? NO! Will it ever change? Very much doubt it!

Now I can breathe again after all of that but nice to get my reflection of personal office experiences off my chest
Maybe time to reconsider my career?

I know its easy to blame the union as if they refuse to pay your OT, as if they B/H you every day, as if they do the managers rota.
So I take it you have raised a grievance about your non payment of OT? Raised a Grievance about the rubbish dished out by management?
For one minute take a peek into the world outside RM and tell me you don't have the best T&C in the industry, also try and tell some employers you have kids to pick up and see how long you last in that job. The problem is with the Employment Laws in this country which are one of the worst in the western world along with nearly the worst state pensions in the western world. So yes Unions are not perfect, reps not perfect but try a month or so without any union in the workplace and tell me what that feels like.
