Dingo's right, you should all be greatful that you have a job, you work shy lazy ingrates
Only the lazy or over 40's will have a problem with the brave new world agreement that Moya had told Billy to agree to !
How will Billy get a seat on the board, if you lot don't knuckle under ?

RM & the CWU have joined forces, and praise the shareholder god, you lot had better get used to the future....

And the next union crusade..............get hold of the voting rights to your shares and I wouldn't put it past them to be on the same voting paper as the agreement ballot. I wonder of it's the same solicitors looking at the agreement as well as the voting rights - something that's not been mentioned lately.

please please please stick up for delivery staff otherwise we r doomed. I am a 25 year person and the job is getting busier and worse than ever . we are not allowed to chuck our tracked out . we take all then there is a row with the large packet person guy who is lazy sod. as usual the union guy has the easiest job in the office and wouldn,t recognize a delivery if it hit him in the face. he was due to resign from the post this year but got told he was losing his delivery job . he soon backed down and said I,ll stay .

so please someone answer me as to why the union reps do sod all in delivery and when there is a row and postie cannot complete they don,t even know or want to know how long the delivery is . (p.s if the union guy done the delivery it would kill him to get half way of some of the deliveries in our office) before anyone pipes up I have done my research on this and my 2 sister offices have exactly the same. basically we r paying 3 odd quid a week for one job in the office to carry a lazy sod about who knows nothing about the REAL work the others are doing.

P.S THE UNION REPS NEED A REALITY CHECK .

As the union rep for my office who is going through a BT2010 revision, collections best practice revision and has a 700 drop walk, i take umbrage to your view that ALL reps need a reality check. Many reps do feather their own nests, let us not shy away from the truth. I consider myself proactive and fair and went for the role for pretty much exactly the reasons you have stated above. Take the bull by the horns and stand yourself. But be forewarned, staff apathy and an unwillingness to change ( sometimes coupled with sheer ignorance ) will soon piss you off. It is a difficult role if you are in it for the right reasons and are committed to doing the right thing, even if that means defending those who should know better and i find it easy to understand how certain reps have had enough and take the easier option of kissing the gaffers arse and playing tea boy. If you are not happy, take the role on before you slate every rep out there. You have been warned though...

Last year the number of days lost due to strike action increased from 592 to 1366 (balloted
strikes: 497, unballoted strikes: 869).

3 cheers for the union reps they do perform a very difficult job as stated for all the reasons above , I know I used to be one . It is very easy to criticise from the sidelines , support your rep if you have got a fair one , if not put yourself forward .

Maybe those offices do not now have bullying and harassment as Royal Mail know that they won't stand for it. Bullies by their nature pick on those they think won't react.

The point I was making was that we have enough words in agreements to stop bullying yet clearly some managers continue to ingnore them and other senior managers cover up for them.

If this is the case then more words in an agreement or even a pledge card won't necessary help.

But if an office stands together and says we not having any of out staff bullied then clearly this brings things to a head.

I know plenty of offices who Royal Mail know if they start bullying people then the Mail won't be delivered as the office will be out. My experience is that generally management adhere to the agreements in these offices.

There are a few who don't stand together and they sadly have the most cases of B&H

Dingo, fully appreciate what you have written there.

In regards to: The point I was making was that we have enough words in agreements to stop bullying yet clearly some managers continue to ingnore them and other senior managers cover up for them.

A serious Q back is:

If RM know this goes on, or is made aware of these types of managers, how do they deal with them if a complaint/grievance/walkout goes ahead ? - Are the managers investigated and removed ? - Have RM ever dismissed/retrained managers over B&H ?

May be a difficult one to answer due to reasons why Managers go, but if members stand up and act, do RM actually look at the problem. ?

The whole point is, if there are enough rules, regulations and agreements to stop excessive work loads and B&H, it's been "surveyed" in the NW - and I use that word specifically because that is part of the ground breaking deal of the century, THEN WHY IS IT STILL HAPPENING.

As for what dingo meant to say is a little bit worrying because if the new ground breaking deal of the century meant to say one thing but actually meant something else............................shades of 2010?

As there are already enough words in agreements to protect people from B&H, then maybe some sackings are called for, this may concentrate people's minds. I think this is the only thing that will stop this, or are RM going to wait for a suicide before they react.
