Also having problems with the clawback of hours in Derby DO. My boss basically told me i had to work one of my days off to clawback some of my hours from last week. After what can only be described as harrassment by the lino he eventually agreed to give me my days off but would be deducted money from my wages. Told him i would rather loose a days pay then bend over anymore for him. This is following yesterdays refused demands that i come in 1.5 hours early today and tomorrow. Wouldnt mind but already agreed to swap my days off to help my lino out with the backlog and this is the thanks i get!!!! complete c***s! . Spoke to our union rep today who to his credit was already on the case and is having a meeting with the DOM, area manager and cwu area rep so at least we should get a clear decision eventually.
I want to say thanks to everyone on this forum for their views on the clawbacks! If i wasnt prepared for this bull i probably would have worked the hours and got shafted!

Do not give him permission to deduct a days pay either, just see what happens. Also let other people in your office know.

Will definitely check up on the progress with the union rep, he said he would come see me on wednesday anyway as being shafted on OT. Thats what makes me laugh i struggle to get a dime out of them and go over most days yet when the snow rolls in i owe them?
How can the whole CWU hierachy sit back and watch its members do something that is supposedly not agreed?
When i talked to our union rep he was aware of the statement from the CWU but said he wasnt sure if it was still valid as it was in january. We desperately need a new official statement from the CWU but i would guess its never going to happen on a national level.
same old crap has been spouted off at sheffield , i personally can not work back the hours due to the fact that i have to work my set hours for childcare purposes. when i contacted my manager on wednesday i got told not to come in but my name would be written down to say that i had contacted the office and would therefore get paid and to just contact the office every day for that days instructions . i live 5 minutes away from my depo and could have got in each day. They should have given me the option to go in. The problem is no one has got a clue what the procedures are .

Only deliveries from our DO today were Firms, Bulk and Town Centres. Everyone was present at 07:30 when the DOM stated that we could go home by taking a) Half days holiday or b) Unpaid leave or c) Clawback of hours to be reclaimed by RM over the busiest period at Xmas or d) Stay on and work in the MC if the work was available! I kept telling my colleagues that these options had not been agreed but most people took the half days holiday. It had been said by some union members that our rep had agreed this!

so true! If Bob Gibson came in to visit some of the managers i know they would probably convince him to half a round!
