The post was aimed at EVERYONE in Scotland.

My point is,London is ready to ballot,and we have not had ONE single EA yet!!
When we get one,then we will roll.

This is what EVERY branch/Div should of done.

if offices that have not had EA walk out i guarentee RM will call it illegal secondery action. They may even take legal action against your division.

Not if they have an official ballot and have previously advised RM what would trigger the ballot and what the question on the ballot
is AFAIK. The hard thing, legally, is that because of the 2nd series of strikes that were cancelled in Oct 2007 the CWU now has to name all possible strikers and which business unit they come under.

I hope that they have had trial runs at this as if they get it wrong it could damage the Union to quite a large degree, never mind just in the pocket.

Our office went in today. Absolute shambles! Frames with calls missing! Thing is they handed out sheets so you could update the missing calls and were promptly informed where to stick it!

The management hope of "no mail" due to the bank holiday yesterday failed spectacularly! 3 yorks of mailsort withdrawn!
Sorting was like your first day in the job! My neck is aching!

Good one with the withdrawn walks: Instead of removing the frames completely. (Which would be far too sensible!) They covered the frames with black & yellow hazard tape! It was like a scene from CSI:New York, Miami etc! Someone did happen to shout "There's been a murder or two round here!"

Everyone in the canteen at break except a few flappers! When will these people learn!

Overall a complete farce! Can't wait for the rest of the week with the catch up! Out to my time today as were many, and it was a Tuesday! Roll on the rest of the week!

inverness goes in monday,nothing is ready,going to be a real nightmare,our cwu reps held a meeting yesterday(bit late but never mind) and we are working to rule as from monday.we are also going for industrial action asap,see you guys on the picket lines.good luck to every office that is getting hit with these changes,stay strong and dont back down,we will win...........

I am not from Scotland but the time has now come for all in this union to take matters into our own hands and leave the union leadership stuck in port with it's own dilemma!. I say for all now not for the sake of one area or one part of this land but for all our sakes and interests and not just the leadership of our union it is in our interest to stay the course and fight the fight for our rights!. Unions are not business's but groups of workers with ideals and principles with a common bond unity with our fellow brothers and sisters!. WE CAN WIN TOGETHER AS ONE AND ALL!.

Afternoon guys and gals!
Well the predicted disaster crept up behind them like a sneaky pooch,and preverbially bit them plump in the rear today!
Up until this morning the management had believed it wasn't going too badly with only a few minor cut-offs.
It went from only a few cut-offs to a major disaster within a couple of hours this fine morning.
Firstly: The spare men they thought they had after removing duties were eaten up by absences and other factors, so the drivers they had to get everyone and their bags out fell flat on its face!
Secondly: The fact that everyone had about 12 pre-coded bundles the size of accordians didn't help.
Thirdly: Royal Mail served a four week notice to our Union Rep removing our four Friday night scheduled attendance night shifts. Which further soured the already pre ground level mood!

What did lighten the mood slightly was the fact the managers openly arguing with one another on the floor!

The delivery could and should have been worse. However the management decided to remove the Mailsort 3 (All 4 yorks of it.) To concentrate on the "Live" mail.

When the question was asked of any manager "I'm going to struggle to complete" was posed not a single word was uttered from anyone of them!
Last guy to leave the office was at 12.15pm. Needless to say the size of his cut-off was almost two full rows!
The plot doth thicken me thinks!

Today was something to behold however.
While standing sorting the packets across the dbf at around 7.45 am, the manager approached myself and another colleague and told us to stop sorting the news(packets) whatever you want to call them, and to turn our attention to the flats and letters. The question was asked why and we were informed a decision had been made to sacrifice the packets. This may have been due to the fact that a full york and a half of pre-coded bundles awaited us as we turned down the town sorting.
So 3 yorks of packets on each sector were sacrificed, off an 8 york shut-out van from Edinburgh.

He then gathered us round in groups to inform us that a decision had been made to get everyone out on the street by 10.30. Everyone was to go for teir meal relief at 9.25 until 10.05. Come back pick up any missorts and be ready to go on the van by 10.20. Thing was he also asked that we be bundled up and 2nd,3rd bags and so on were to be done before we went for said meal relief.
This looked distinctly unlikely as it was now 8.30. But he had a cunning plan. If you were going to struggle then you were to go through your pre-coded bundles you still had to prep and remove the 2nd Class, mailsort and if needed the downstream access.
This was a surprising move as every other day your told "this is our bread and butter" but when it's convenient for them they lapse whatever they wish!
Tomorrow promises to be interesting due to the earlier finish!
Also spotted in the office this morning?
The man with Pegasus on his laptop who was responsible for the debacle!

surely no.

Maybe individual offices have, but i've not heard anything. I know Castlemilk office are on 4 hour deliveries and have been for a year. I'll try and find out more on Monday.

Excellent postings my friend and colleague. Is that the same man responsible for previous debacles and who is paid 30K a year? Another numpty promoted above his capabilities, and another RM poodle. Stay strong Scotland, unity is strength.

Indeed it is Prowler! He was responsible for the duties when we went into the single daily delivery the other year. He made a balls up then and has been allowed to return to do it for a second time! Galling thing is he lives in the area!

I mentioned in my previous post that Saturday would be interesting due to the earlier finish. That's how it turned out.
The previous days "live mail" cut-off was sorted before Saturdays and as a direct result the last van at 07.00am was held off by the management. In total 8 yorks of news, 40 trays of flats and the same of letters were held off DD2 and DD3 sectors.

Our rep advised us to take our meal relief at 07.30, which resulted in the above descision being taken. The descision didn't really assist anyone as we were already snowed under in the previous days mail.

Our first letter should go through the door at 08.30 on a Saturday, but this was distinctly unlikely as we only came downstairs from our break at 08.00!

The advice you were given if you were stuggling to complete depended on which manager you spoke to! One advised you to "stream in the street". Which if your delivering tennaments is a stupid idea. I mean what is the point in streaming the tennament if you are going to the top of the said building with a 1st Class or stamped item?!
Another manager told you to leave 2nd Class PPI and Downstream access where you weren't going!
My situation was further compounded by a special delivery for one of the last tennaments on the delivery.

The backlog continues to build, with the mail now being sorted in date order.
Saturday's mail was sorted before yesterday's and even then not all of Monday's mail was on delivery
yesterday.
I'm day off today so god knows what has happened this morning! One thing is for sure i'll be looking at a cut off tomorrow morning! Funny thing is i'll have to start at the bit that's been cut-off and then walk back to the beginning!
