Is that the best reply you could muster Postman?

You should be better than that.

Ogg wrote:Apologies for not making myself a little more clearer earlier. Due to being our local cwu rep I have to mediate between staff and management but we're only now discussing the many issues that 'Phase 3' raises. I've read numerous reports concerning the latest national agreement...and basically us posties have been left without a leg to stand on! I was simply hoping for some feedback from offices either implementing or discussing the newest round of changes.

As an office we are in the last week of the farcical 'summer savings' plan (where sixty postmen take part delivery of a round, such chaos!) and something of a relief that it's at an end to be honest. BUT...and a big 'but' at that...phase three now begins and we're back to where we started albeit under a different name.
Basically, under the new agreement management can cover sick absence, release days, special leave...any kind of absence really by distributing the deficit amongst already overworked colleagues. Oh I know it's all dressed up in management speak concerning 'no significant reduction of quality of service' and 'full cwu/dom interaction' blah blah blah but that's the national agreement now and we're ****ed.
How soon will it be routine to deliver fifty houses from another delivery before you begin your own? Why did the CWU even agree to such measures? Not forgetting the stress this will put on people who are off sick...I can only imagine the reception someone would get upon their return, knowing we all had to do extra to cover their absence...and so forth.

It's getting increasingly difficult to form a positive argument against continuous change when our Union Leaders have agreed to sanction such changes in the first place. As an individual office we voted against the summer savings but it was brought by an area decision.
We have now given management full license to basically do as they please. Madness I tell you!
Seems to me your not up to the job, get more support from your divisional rep buddy :wave

Phase 3 ? Whats that then?

Not in my office yet, managment are far more interested in getting pegasus (Starts monday nmorning :nana ) working and settled in.

Basically we are going to take the delivery nearest the office, in fact its simply the other side of the road from the office and split it up 27 ways (10 mins work each) when there is sick leave. However thats just for the urban deliveries so for the rurals im gonna suggest a maxium of 10 mins extra IPS on top of what they do when there is sick leave and for the rurals who dont do IPS 10 mins IPS every saturday under utlising all paid work hours.

All when time permits and if time dosent permit then if nesscary we will cut off if the DOM still wants us to do the extra.

Once I havea draft aggrement then myself and the DOm presnt it to the troops on the basis that we will sign it in one week if there are not any major concerns or good reasons presented as to why the draft aggrement wont work. Every one got the 1.5% payrise and if some have to do extra work and some dont then all hell will break loose!
