Actually no. No one should underestimate what a major task it would have been to turn deliveries around after the last 3 years. The CWU lost the plot with BT2010 and entered into an alliance with RM which was totally inappropriate in dealing with the memberships issues that have arisen and which have been ignored and allowed to fester. Anyone in their right mind could have seen it was a recipe for disaster, ill thought out and the detail sadly lacking which has allowed RM to run rough shod over the modernisation program, which even almost 4 years on is still not complete. Now we find the whole delivery process for letters/packets/parcels is almost reversed and deliveries find themselves ill-equipped to deal with the influx of parcels/packets AND mail including the increase in D2D with the tools available for revisions of 3 years ago.
No! The apologists will be excusing the shoddy negotiating, lack of inclusion of the membership and communications so poor jungle drums would be more appropriate. But to actually apologise to the membership well that I have yet to see.
