Not RM but may be of interest re reasonable grounds - note that Virgin appealed after losing the first tribunal http://libcom.org/news/virgin-rail-cate ... e-21072007" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;La Poste wrote:My case has been running longer than that. I have had three interviews now. Witnesses have been interviewed twice and the guy who put the complaint in three times. RM want to paint me as an aggressive abusive harasser whereas all the witnesses say I have allways been friendly, polite but maybe a little cheeky at times.
The guy who put the complaint is is lying through his teeth and there are so many contradictions in his statements it is not true but deep down I don't think it will make a lot of difference as they want me gone.
It all boils down to the manager being able to say "I had a reasonable suspicion that the alleged events took place". Even though three witnesses say they didn't.
This is why I'm interested in finding out just how far RM can push these cases, are they answerable to anyone in the long run. I know there will allways be an employment tribunal at the end but I think they only look at proceedure and not at the conclusions RM have come to from the evidence available.
I need to read more about defending myself at an employment tribunal particularly the area where I think RM's conclusions judged by the evidence are wrong.
Bob Crow doesn't p*** about !

Bob Crow doesn't p*** about !nice way our union treat US the members.......what type of union leadership would allow an employer to treat their union members like this,ps i know that there is 1 union member been suspended for dbl the time i have....fuuukn scary,in other words over a year
I'm reliably informed that firstly the NUR / RMT lost 100,000 members when Thatcher sold off British Rail Engineering ( BR used to make it's own trains - now they're Foreign made and leased out by the Banks to the Private Train Companies - A racket basically ? - 5 mediocre Senior Managers bought up all the trains for £100,000 each in the nineties and sold them on again making themselves millionaires )
After a strike in the 90's , BR refused to do paybill deductions for RMT members - so staff could " disappear " - so the RMT lost more members .
The railway used to have a lot of unionised track workers so the Tories deliberately split up maintenance and renewal which is one and the same thing
In summary staff got sick of the " corrupt " right wing old guard - maybe a bit like RM ? and went for the more militant Bob Crow approach . The RMT is like a phoenix that has risen from the ashes

For all the CWU's faults though - it is still one union , the railway lads have three , ASLEF , RMT & TSSA & there is a lot of bad blood between them and there's only one RM .
The other irony is that Billy Hayes was supposed to be part of that leftie awkward squad at the same time Bob Crowe became GS
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho ... 60613.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
" Mr Crow's accession to the RMT leadership adds another union general secretary to a left-wing alliance that includes Mick Rix of the train drivers' union Aslef; Billy Hayes at the Communication Workers Union; and Andy Gilchrist of the Fire Brigades Union. All heartily loathe New Labour. The Government fears Mr Crow will choose to take on New Labour in the run-up to the next general election at a time when strikes on commuter lines could well lose the party votes."
