Billy, if you had seen the soft sods at our office when we lost that ballot in 2003, you would have thought they had won the pools and the lottery all on the same day. They were practically doing high fives, and the smug grins on their daft mugs told me there and then that they were every bit as much the enemy as the scum at the top passing down the orders. When I put my 'x' next to YES, the thought of those shiny arsed oafs was there in my mind. In my office they've done away with nights, brought in later start times and tried to bring in five over six, the only thing stopping it being someone finding out from the CWU website that such deals should not be entered into. They're stooges, but very willingly so.
Woah right there my friend there seems to be a misunderstanding here . . . .

I am in no way saying the local screws don't play there part willingly and that they haven't been brainwashed into the company line . . . . . . . but as my last line says all I want is for them to grow a backbone and be honest with us with what they really believe. . . . . . .keep your friends close and your enemies even closer

at this time of trouble ALL support, no matter where from, should be welcomed ( if perhaps with caution )

check my posts, we are very definately on the same side here
I wasn't having a pop Bill. I was assuming your experience with your screws differed from mine.

Wow that is fcuking low!!!

I dont agree with strikes (personal opinion no need to discuss and get into arguments etc) BUT i am supporting the union 100% by staying out!

Some people ive heard say they are crossing the line, and even wierder some are saying they will strike for the 1st day but no more!!!

I would love to see strike breakers kicked out of the union, but unfortunately to do so is illegal. The Trade Union and Labour Relations (consolidation) Act 1992 forbids unions from taking any disciplinary action against members refusing to take part in industrial action. With any luck those strike breakers who have any conscience left will resign their membership. But don't hold your breath waiting!

Down our way they will be asked to resign, and their names will be sent to HQ.
The feelings i got from our area rep today is they WILL be kicked out, actually he blatantly said it.
So i'm not sure what the proper score is.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I don't believe we can kick them out as Industrial Action is voluntary, however we can strongly advise them to quit and remind them that their subs are now wasted coz nobody in the union will be willing to represent them should they need it anyway. I think that's the least of their problems anyway, they've gotta face their "workmates" on saturday. :d'oh!

NO UNION MEMBERS CROSSED THE LINE TODAY AT MY OFFICE. GOOD JOB TO. I WOULDN'T ASK THEM TO RESIGN. I JUST WOULDN'T REP THEM IN THE FUTURE IN ANY CASE. THEY'D HAVE NO CHOICE THEN BUT TO RESIGN.

The way to deal with the strike breakers, although obviously impossible, would be to say 'Fine you went in because you don't support the strike, then you must agree with the pay deal thats on the table' Then give them that deal, anything else that we get, tough s**t to them, they don't support us so they can have the s**t that we have been offered. They can do the extra door to doors for free, they can cover overtime for free, they can have their hours changed. And if they come crying about it we can teach them all new swear words :lfo :cfo
