Rest assured we will get shafted - pitiful pay rise tied to further erosion of our t&c (any we have left anyway).

All while the CWU tell us how lucky we are and what a perilous position RM are in

The savings the company will make though the USO changes will put the company in a better position financially as the wage bill will obviously decrease significantly.
It should put the union in a better position to negotiate a wage increase and amalgamate the old and new contracts.
The old contacts will not see a huge rise I believe because the focus will be primarily on negotiating a one contract for all scenario.
If the overtime rate goes up to time and a quarter for that contract then earning opportunities will increase significantly for some.

The trouble is, nobody on delivery will have the energy to do any OT after they go ahead with the changes. So the rate going up to time and a quarter is utterly meaningless.

Fair point.
Some will, allot of people are on four day weeks now and work both their rest days now.
You will get some doing pre-starts and some will want to complete their rounds on the days they are in.
If your on a four day week and do six days with the increased overtime rate than those rest days could be very decent money.

Wise words. I'm sure the 4 dayers will find out rather quickly that it's not worth it. Therefore putting the time and a quarter payments for delivery on the back burner for RM. :thumbup
