If you can't afford to lose a day's pay what are you going to do if you're ill and don't get any pay for three days thanks to Simon's new sick pay policy?

What are you going to do when you can't earn any overtime in the run up to Christmas because they've got you working 44hrs for the price of 37hrs?

What are you going to do when you're having to fork out another £150 a week in childcare because Simon wants you to work until 5pm?

If you can't afford to strike you might as well start looking for another job because if we lose this battle you won't be able to afford to work for Royal Mail.

If you guys are going to 'lift' this post/part of it to put on social media-at least tell 'em where you got it from.

With the annualised hours RM would get the later finishes that they want with the later start and finish times so are we all going to end up stuck with later finishes, at least in the winter anyway?

with cwu votes usually in the 90% area how can you have only 6 on strike in an office of 40.

It’s because most aren’t even in the union especially the ones who’ve started th last 2 years and we have quite a few of them.Also most are part time and have basically said they can’t afford to go on strike

I remember striking for about two weeks in the late 80’s. We had just got our first mortgage and my wife was a student nurse. Could I afford it? No. But ai did as it was what I believed in. If the recent joiners aren’t in the union and we lose they will suffer most not us that have been here for decades.

Last time we had a strike only 6 of us out of about 40 went on strike, now we have about 34 posties and after a quick chat at work it appears just 3 of us are prepared to strike! Trouble is we are now are predominantly part time office and people say they just can’t afford to. I’m not sure if the 3 of us will even do it now as we feel disappointed by lac of support. Do you think many will actually go out with the current cost of living, maybe Thompson knows this and will call our bluff
