I am perhaps getting wrong end of stick, so apologies if I am. But why would that be desirable, from our perspective? We should be absolutely elated if we get 6, 7, 8 D2D items, as they are included in the daily workload and the prep for these items needs to be accounted for. The longer we spend in doors means the less time we have outside to deliver. Given the physical demands of the job nowadays, is surely a good thing for all of us.

We have to get away from the thinking of job and finish, when if it was busy it was a real downer. Now, the busier it is, the better it should be, since it means minimal lapsing, and potentially cut-offs, which in turn create the potential for extra earnings for colleagues in the form of overtime (assuming you don't want the OT yourself).

Good post I'm afraid there are too many people who don't seem to see what is happening to their jobs and can't adjust to working their hours, still thinking how many corners can i cut so i can finish early

The problem is you know it does not work like that as well as thousands of us it is intimidation and threats and coercion of the most heinous kind and all the CWU do is put their head in the sand. To this problem which will mount week by week to office by office get a grip CWU that's what we pay you for.

They're trialing a machine which if it gets introduced nationwide, would (in theory), mean no prep time, all the indoor time that you currently spend doing d2ds, IPS and preping your walk would become outdoor time

The problem is you know it does not work like that as well as thousands of us it is intimidation and threats and coercion of the most heinous kind and all the CWU do is put their head in the sand. To this problem which will mount week by week to office by office get a grip CWU that's what we pay you for.

Yeah I can see that point of view. However, at end of the day we are all individually capable of standing up for ourselves. No matter what they threaten you with, no matter how they try to coerce you, they CANNOT force you to work past your time, unless you agree to it. The problem is, most want an easy life, which means trying best to avoid confrontation. That is understandable. It is however, very slowly becoming something which is unavoidable in our job. Avoiding confrontation achieves nothing, apart from ensuring management see you as an easy target and attempt to walk over the top of you.

I do agree however that the CWU need to get a handle on deliveries and the bullying and harassment that goes on.

It came prepared in last few weeks, it do work but it is not 100% accurate. it is getting there. Good as I hate preparing D2D.
