They took away our colleague shares so don't bank on getting the pay back dated! :cuppa

It will be the fault of the MEMBERS, if the executive shakes hands on a deal that does not include backpay. They do not have the final say. WE do. And when you are asked to vote, if it is a deal that contains no element of backpay, it is incumbent on you to vote NO, and reject it.
It's not enough to moan about any pay deal that is put to the members... too much apathy abounds. If past ballots are any guide, about a third or more of members will foolishly fail to vote at all.

If you don't like the proposal, don't whinge, don't whine. USE your vote, and vote NO

Indeed a few things mandatory on the table should be:

Backpay - backdated.

£300 no strike before xmas offer - Reinstate and included in agreement.

B&H needs to be addressed - RM don't recognise it, as the minute they do then they have to admit and address it.

How the CWU can get them to agree to that I really don't know ???

The £300 no strike bait will never be agreed by the executive or the members. Why would you want this reinstated?

Because the money was in RM's pocket ready and willing to be paid ( if we didn't strike by xmas deal ) - so it's there and was offered on the table. ( as a no stike bait indeed ) - If we reach an agreement and of course don't strike, then we partly have honored that deal ( Although I'm aware all deals off the table pending re-discussion )

If the re-structed agreement comes about, and this money is not re-offered then it's a lot of ££ to a lot of people down the drain.

RM offered it as a bribe - If it were me doing negotiations, I'd certainly discuss that.

Aware of course it was a one-time carrot they dangled over a one-time in discussion strike.

What happens in the future is a whole different ball game

£300 will be the back pay!

I reckon it will be either the original £300 or the back pay, not both.

But will £300 be enough for a back pay? Should there be a formula? Or they just knock it on the head and go for the same sort of amount they offered before.

The thing has dragged on for a while and some people will miss out completely...

Your all talking without knowing the facts. The CWU has apart from twice always got back pay paid. I fail to see why the CWU won't this time.

In regards to the £300 it was already in the first offer and was part of the discussions on the replacement to colleague share so it will still be there under the improved offer , the question will be is this improved on. Equally it will be paid to everyone and will not be a bribe.

But this dispute is not over , there is no deal unless everything is agreed and up to last night talks on deliveries were going nowhere.

If there was a breakdown of why deliveries are always getting the s**t end of the stick it is because the workforce is spread far and wide and the representation is at best patchy. Mail Centres are a different kettle of fish they can be gathered together very quickly and information and cohesive action organised instantly.

I would agree with back pay being paid as my memory can't recall the times they have not paid this. As for the £300 I believe that is already accounted for and will be paid too. On reading your last point I can't believe they will ever agree to all your demands and I would not expect the executive to think this too. I understand asking but you don't always get what you want. If you say they are going nowhere I suppose strikes are inevitable which I think is quite sad but I also think the union called off the strikes as they were worried how many people will go into work. If they call the strikes now I think more people will work as it's near Christmas and generally people need the money. Also I would be surprised if they can't come to a deal Royal Mail will play hardball and offer a deal like before if you come into work you will be paid £300 +.

Of course we are because we aren't given any facts even after the reps pep talk on Monday. As for deliveries - BT2010 destroyed deliveries and there is no going back because this agreement was negotiated without any real knowledge of what deliveries entail and how long deliveries take it's toll. Regardless of weight off the shoulder it is still going on because too much is expected a delivery officer can achieve using the agreed equipment. Unless there is a new approach to modernisation with knowledgeable people on board things cannot be mended.

Even Mr dingo is not fully aware of what goes on in delivery... Not a criticism but a statement in support DV.

I recalled recently he made a statement without realising that a lot of delivery offices have undergone revision and changes to delivery methods; and we now work in shared vans using park and loop...
