BS, it would never get voted in. Even RM and the CWU aren't stupid enough to waste their time trying to sell that.

Cant be anywhere close to the truth.
Its a worse deal than before with the exception of the 5yr deal. So how can it be an improved offer.

This is the agreement I would like to see.

CWU agreeing to 7 yr T&C Legally binding (This way both CWU and RM can plan for long term stability of the business)
pay rise as before
Pay and O/T backdated
300 payment
extra O/T rates
rejection of "No Strike" clause.
Independent investigators for bullying and harassment cases by DOMs and Linos.
Improved skill training for staff including vocational qualification (there is a need to improve the skill base of the staffs)

We shall see if we can get that. :hmmmm

That's what I would say, it's got to be very close to that. Maybe a smaller lump sum to offset the higher basic rise.

theres no chance of 9% in the first year so not much of a higher rise

I think it means 9% over 3 years - up from the 8.6% of the original pay offer.

I agree with this completely.

I won't be happy unless this has been reached or exceeded.

I dont think 7 years will be on the cards. If 5 years with a reopener is agreed it will be a victory, but depending on when the five years runs from. We have been told that the three year deal in the original offer finished in March 2015. This means Royal Mail were dating it back to April 2012. I assume this is because the BT2010 Agreement pay offer was back dated to April 2009 and was over 3 years. So in effect a five year deal may end up only having 3 years to run if it is also back dated to March 2012.
In respect of pay rise and the problems surrounding the original £300 lump sum, I would have thought the CWU would have suggested politely to Royal Mail that a % increase in pay back dated to April 2013 would be more acceptable and cause far less problems as the idea of pro-rata payments for many part time people is an insult, particularly those that put in extra hours to make their pay up. The other argument is that a % increase in hourly rate is there year on year, feeds into pensionable pay, as against a lump sum which is spent and never seen again.
As for item 4 of the agenda. In my opinion any agreement must state in clear and unambiguous words that STRIKE ACTION TO REINFORCE AN INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE WILL NEVER BE FORFEITED OR COMPROMISED as a result of this or any future agreement.
