Re: Deal on the table already?
most people in our mail centre assume it will be 1 day rolling strikes ,i have a feeling they will be shocked if all out action is taken. and I have tried to gauge how long people would stay out if a full walkout happens and 2weeks seems to be the answer before they would get jittery. what would it take most people I wonder to start dripping back into work hope union get this this right

Two weeks could put the business in a position from which it would take months to recover - they would like it even less than we would.alanpowell wrote:most people in our mail centre assume it will be 1 day rolling strikes ,i have a feeling they will be shocked if all out action is taken. and I have tried to gauge how long people would stay out if a full walkout happens and 2weeks seems to be the answer before they would get jittery. what would it take most people I wonder to start dripping back into work hope union get this this right

Re: Deal on the table already?
Unfortunately, i fear it's going to be same old same old, defeat snatched from the jaws of victory, & union left with tail between their legs. How many times have they threatened to go on strike with build up to Christmas, then back down? Threaten to go on strike when Harry Potter book was due for delivery, then back down, now with the privatisation & share prices added to the mix, & Christmas approaching again, all seems to be in favour of the union, sometimes you've got to be selfish & single minded. Never mind what's best for the business, or unfortunately the customers, it's what's best for the workforce, otherwise what's the point in having the union in the first place.

The ultimate 'carrot to dangle' would be to let members sell their shares now, instead of waiting for 3 years. The that would make a few wobble.cloherty1976 wrote:So true rhino. Your last quote could that be what RM have up there sleeve for tomorrow. They must have a surprise for the union!rhino49 wrote:I am ready and willing to go out on strike but sadly, I believe we will be bought.
The pension problem appears to be settled
The terms and conditions will become meaningless unless the signatories of the controlling interests at the top stay as they are - which they won't.
Existing jobs will be relatively safe - but you won't see anyone replaced who leaves.
The problem of bullying and harassment wherever it may be, will only go away if you stand up to the bullies individually or as an office with the agreed ways of working in your hand. You do not have to follow "made up" rules. The management of the company refuse to recognise the problem because it is ingrained in their methods and is becoming endemic in employers methods under this government - it can only be stopped by refusing to acknowledge the bullies - they can only lie to you - they can't cope with resistance. But you have to be above reproach in the way you do your job !!!
What will sway our minds will be an offer of a decent pay award with no strings attached and maybe a nod to compensation for the failed colleagueshare fiasco now that the company is rolling in money.

But RM don't have the power to grant that.BernardBresslaw wrote: The ultimate 'carrot to dangle' would be to let members sell their shares now, instead of waiting for 3 years. The that would make a few wobble.
It would be illegal.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

B&H Procedure as it stands, is NOT FIT for purpose......
Having the guilty on the jury, just isn't tenable IMHO

Totally agree but in some cases you could contact the equality commission for advice especially if its sexual, racial or religious.Shambles wrote:rhino49 wrote:
