Hi.
I am just giving an update.
I have just received a letter telling me I am going down to half pay on December 12th.
Will I lose a lot of money or will I be able to claim SSP. to top up my pay.
I am certified disabled now and claiming P.I.P and Motability allowance, I get this automatically because I have terminal cancer.
The Doctor has told me that I probably wont work again but to stay employed as I will get better benefits.

I am taking a cancer fighting drug called TARCEVA and am feeling much better at the moment although I get very tired very easily and have a nasty rash and mouth ulcers, this is all a side effect from the drugs.
If you have any thoughts of what is best for me and my Family then please let me know.

I don't know the intricacies of SSP but I think you should be entitled to it. However there are limits on how long you can get it. Also RM half sick pay will only last for another 6 months so it may be best to sit down with a financial speciailsit and weigh up all the pros and cons of the different options open to you.
