If a cluster manager is the same level as a DOM (which I think it is) then yes they do. Although they will normally get everything checked out to make sure their decision is backed up from above.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

bit late to the thread sorry

is your friend up to date on his training?

ie. Is there documented proof that he has been properly trained on the correct use of yorkies?

If not pretty hard to discipline him for improper use if he hasn't had proper training in the first place

like I said just a thought

I dont think a DOM can dismiss only suspend. It has to be a DSM to dismiss, it will normally state this in the conduct letter.

Hold tight,here's how it would of worked with me..
Stage 3 interview done by a DOM at another office,not issued so not sacked,if issued then i would of be sacked by the DOM,fair enough.
Another scenario,row with me DOM,calls him all the names under the sun ect in another industry i would be sacked,with RM i get suspended (conduct code route has to be gone down so he can't sack me)so down the conduct code route,and get sacked by another manager doing it.

This is similar thing that happens to the Post Delivery Officer (PDO) that I am helping at the moment. Managers and appeal managers do not even care about facts. I have presented my facts but they just dismissed it. I think we should all combine our effort and lodge something to the newspaper. Anyone interested please post here and we can submit a case together to the newspaper or local MP.
