Any fool can see ,it does not matter how much you tinker and tweak a system that has at it's foundation an absolute need for continual and increasing growth in a world of finite resources, that sooner or later crunch day will come.
And as for windfall taxes, what a crock. Yet another neat little establishment diversion, it's like watching wrestling on the World of Sport. Just nationalise the greedy energy companies, no payment due."oh we have to increase our prices cos our raw materials have gone up" why are your profits up massively? and, how come if your margins are being squeezed you've just managed to increase the average shareholder dividend by 20%? :shhhhh
Yep off shoreing not a domiciled buisness no tax the green's will say no tax no buisness = back to the stoneage!. What we need is a social democratic party!. NOT (NEW LABOUR) NOT (THE LIB DEMS) AND NO WAY (THE TORY PARTY) WHY CAN THE WHOLE UNION MOVEMENT NOT ORGANIZE A NEW "OLD LABOUR PARTY" LIKE BEFORE (MT) maggy thatcher!.

The Green Party is an environmental party
It sees a world in environmental crisis, and especially climate change, as the major political issue facing us all today. The environment is not just another issue to be added to ordinary politics - humans are part of the environment, if it goes down the pan, we all go with it.

But the Green Party is not ONLY an environmental party
It sees the main cause of environmental crisis as being the way businesses and governments treat everything on the planet (including human beings) as things to be exploited for profit.

All Green Party policies mean major changes in politics and economics
Anything less won't do. Piecemeal reforms may make things better for some people in some areas (often the richest people in the richest countries) It is far too easy for businesses to move themselves around the world where labour is cheaper and regulations on workers' rights and pollution are weakest.
The TU group and the Green Party have supported unions in dispute such as the FBU, PCS and Unison.

Our elected representatives have fought for workers' rights from local level to the European Parliament.

Jean Lambert and Caroline Lucas,

Green party MEP's, have campaigned against the anti-worker provisions of the European Services Directive , and for the reduction of working hours.

The Labour Party opposed the introduction of Thatcher's anti-union laws, but New Labour in government now enforces most of them.

The Green Party has consistently opposed such laws and will seek their repeal at the earliest opportunity. The Green Party Trades Union Group is affiliated to the Campaign for the Repeal of the Anti-Trade Union laws .

There is a battle for fourth place at the next GE take your pick as to who you want to fill that spot Greens or BNP or UKIP thats is the unknown factor for the UK the top three will stay the top three with Labour and Tories swapping places.

Greens on track to get up to three MP's from their current tally of zero.

Watch out for Charles Clark losing to Green Party, they already have got enough votes more than labour two years on the trot at local elections across Norwich South that if repeated they will win the seat. Increased green support on a massive scale at Norwich South and Charle Clark is getting very vocal recently , coincidence or is he trying to put distance between himself and new labour and gordon brown? Look at the Labour MP for Norwich North who could be described as a rebel/old labour the greens are not a threat to him. Co incidence?

Brighton Labour MP standing down at next election as he is allegedlly dosent want to be the 1st labour mp to lose a seat to the green party.

The GP wants to engage with the TU movement what harm can it do?

Nothing without the masses of union vote's behind it but it is what it will do to the masses who could vote for it!. We have had enough charlatan's to last a life time GORDON BLUE, TONY BLIE'R!. MY idea is to have a federation of union's and F*CK THE NEW LABOUR PARTY!. most of them fools have never done a days work in thier life!. And to bring back one man one vote and involve all our brothers and sisters in this democracy!.

Ms Lucas added: "There is a huge number of people out there who want to hear our message and we need to get better at getting it across.

"I want to get our message out about social justice. Everybody knows we're the party of the environment. What fewer people know is that if you are looking for the real progressive force in British politics today it is the Green party."

As a Trade Union activist I want the unions to hear that mesage and debate it.

Trouble is big D that it does seem that the green lobby is slipping down the same slippery plug hole as the trades union movement. All safe issues and diversions ,nothing to challenge the status quo, reduce this by 10% don't fly to the Maldives in October,Monbiot thinks nukes are good ,so brace yourselves for 600,000 years of radioactive hopscotch

The Green Party are actually going up the slippery plug hole as you call it. They are a growing party in a time when the overall amount of political party members has dropped. They understand that people are not going to change without a viable alternative in place and without that alternative they fully understand no amount of green taxes will on their own is enough to bring about change. Compare to GB who dosent give a damn and simply sees green taxes as a revenue raising measure. Alternatives to the car whenever possible alternatives to short flights going from one location in the uk to another location in the uk. Green party want to see car tax scrappped as they belive its a unfair tax.
