All offices are having an effect. When they have to draft in 50-60 managers at weekends, fly them up from London then in their own way they are having an effect. If we went national then RM would stop trying to get offices covered with deliveries or sorting mail. They would simply point their finger at the CWU and accuse them of causing unrest. At the moment RM feel compelled to use managers where they can to try and get some service to the public and it is costing them.
More and more offices will come on board and ballot for IA with London being a major area coming but at the moment Dundee West need only work their contracted hours and let the mail pile up. DDW have had their manager coming out and admitting the duties are unworkable and the press need to know this as well as a visit from the press or an MP to the D.O.

Trust me mate. you can hardly move in Dundee West with all the yorkies of the stuff!

But that is my point Dundeepostie, You havent went on strike, you have merely worked your contracted hours and the sh*t is piling up. One visit from an MP or the press will cause more problems for the senior management who cannot be bothered checking Dundee West out themselves.

I would like the local MP's to know what's going on. The local paper ' The Courier' is no fan of Royal Mail and is always quick to print detrimental stories, although I don't see them getting through the front door. These stories are usually followed by the usual bullshit and outright lies, denying there is a problem from some RM ' spokesperson'.
As I understand it, the last time any senior management visited DDW, a lot of yorks were hidden outside the office and it was given a clean bill of health! You couldn't make it up quite honestly. Any top brass visitors are usually shepherded around by managers and kept away from the workforce!!

Surely any top brass visitors with an ounce of sense, would on visiting wish to seek the groundswell opinions of the workforce.

dundee west still not sorted out. its an uneasy feeling when even mangers no longer believe in what their doing. its got to the stage when you cant argue with them as you realise that our true enemies are faceless number-crunchers who never put their heads above the parapet. still feel very confident. we have won the arguement, now , all we have to do is to win the war

Well done Anstruther D.O! Another area joins the fight!
The overtime ban continues with us,and "doing the job properly" has Dundee West on its knees!
The packet mountain grows by the day, and the mail backlog is becoming incredible! For the second day in succsession a full york of first class flats has failed to make it onto delivery.
Had the postal ballot papers today, which led to an even bigger stream than usual.
Have heard that Royal Mail are bringing in agency staff on Monday to do some packets. The last time they were in the other week, if you weren't in they put a blank P739 through your door and then returned said packets back into the sector yorks!
Needless to say people are phoning up looking for packets that the drivers haven't got back round to yet!
