And please can someone explain why the mail that is ebing sent NOW, is getting priority over the stuff that was sent during the strike? Surely it should be the other way around? :(

its really irritates me that some members of the public think us posties just sit around, go out deliver a few letters and packets, come back and go home. reality - masses of mail to prep, always told mail levels are declining, my walk at least 5 bags every day, not making more than 10 minutes a day. please annoyed person, take a look around the site and gauge some opinion.

Please can someone clear me up on why there was this problem in the first place, and what deal are they trying to give you now? No need to write an essay, i just want the facts if anyone could be kind enough to do so :)

Annoyed....

1) Where do you live..

2) What day did you post it?

Put these FACTS down and then IF a postie is from you way... IE your Delivery office then he or she can tell you...

Otherwise we do millions upon millions of letters packets and flats a day... So You coming on here and asking us with no prior knowledge of your FACTS willnot be able to give you an answer...... 100% not at all....

Ive seen in another post a postie gave you the customer care number... I feel you should ring them....

I was just wondering..

But where do you expect them to get the money to give you better wages and times and stuff anyway? Are you saying they keep more money for themselves than they are supposed to or something? As i dont really understand how that works.

Why are we not listening to our UNION. That's what we pay our dues for and they have reccommened we accept.
Why the hell are we paying these people all this money and it seems we are all being well and truely SHAFTED.

Still not looking round the site then. If you had you would find the majority of postal staff and even the senior bosses realise that this series of strikes was not about pay - except for the bits the tried to remove (Â£30 a week).

It was about removing an allowance for a particular product but gets us to deliver more.

Bringing in Monthly pay without any help converting from weekly or at least not advising us of it.

Making us retire older than we agreed to when we first started.

Bringing in annualised hours without safeguards.

Changing pensions without full explanation or apparently proper consultation.

Bringing in flexible working with no regard to family or outside commitments. The flexibility is all to Royal Mails benefit not its employees.

Later starts meaning later deliveries - but making earlier last collections. In some cases the last collection is before you get your post.

Different working hours for different day.

Cancellation of collections on Public Holidays and Sundays.

Closure of post office without proper public consultation.

We also want a review of postcoms position in setting and enforcing regulations.

Protection of the USO.

Removal of Spanish practices - most of which were started by senior Royal Mail Management as an incentive for us to deliver faster and now they say we brought them in.

Me personally - trying to stop the privatisation of a public service.

Bosses indecent bonuses and wages rises when we get 2.5% per year rise and a 92p bonus against 26% and Â£500,000

Trying to find logic of charging you more than 30p for postage but DSA business 13p and why we do that at a loss.

Shares in savings which is good in principle. However, only Royal Mail will set the targets and can change them when operationally necessary, and we only get our share when the target is exceeded. Another problem with this is that the only savings Royal Mail have made in recent years is by loss of people and not in efficiency.

So as you can see if you had read through the forum there are a lot of issues and I am afraid it has to be an essay to even get the bit size issue I have posted above.
