Agreement re making Part Timers upto Full Time

And do you all really think that RM having spent the best part of 20 years eradicating full time employment will offer anyone a full time contract again. If they can economically do so ie high employment area and cannot get any staff still will try it as they do not have to pay full holiday pay or sick pay or redundancy or ill health retirement costs as full time staff!

On the official RM jobsite there are more 35he full-time staff being employed but they are still legally part time as their pro rata against 38hr full-time staff. What a f**k up.

If a job (full time hours) was advertised - how would the suitability etc be determined? Is it purely on seniority? what if 2 candidates wanted the job and one was already full -time and one was part-time, who would be considered first? part time person with 15 years service or full time with 10 years?

The full timer would get it.
The manager would have to decide if the job is full time or part time, then go with the person who has the most seniority with those hours.
That's how it works in my office anyhow.
