Imagine a 5 day week with a Tuesday gone.
Would that mean working every Saturday for the rest of eternity.

I would be out the door pronto.

You have to work a longer week for 1 in 4 Saturday's off did you think royal mail just give you an extra Saturday off?

The reality is that Royal Mail do not want to reduce USO. The growth in parcels , tracked , Door Step scan is next day and same day ! Why would they remove a day ?

What Royal Mail do want is to reduce the amount of duties they have on each day. So for example why is there the same amount of duties on a Monday and Tuesday as there are on a Wednesday , Thursday and Friday.

Royal Mail have taken a lot of interest in the WIK report commissioned by OFF Comm which reviewed several foreign postal services and compared with the UK and one of the key things most of the services did was reduce some of the services they offered on lighter days to reduce the amount of jobs needed on the lighter days.

Mondays are busy apart from a drop in parcels. They wouldn't dare stop deliveries on a week day considering most businesses work Monday to Friday. Saturdays you could get away with delivering just parcels and specials but it won't happen
