He's not alone in the CWU wilderness, you only have to read the many posts on here to realise how isolated offices are from any real Union prescence. It would be interesting to see when the last time an office was visited by a full time release official, when said officials took any interest in local abuses to agreements, looked into the membership of offices, what the part time to full time ratio is and what effect that has on Union membership. In my 25 years with RM I have seen union activity dwindle from an active involvement in the workplace to a talking shop with no real communication at shop floor level. Ask yourself when was the last time you had a union meeting outside of the workplace.
