Don't know where some people are getting the "3 days for delivery" from

Maybe it's the old fashioned notion that delivery office managers can manage their delivery offices.

I mean mailcentres and MPUs seem to be allowed to, If they get too much work they simply pile it through to the delivery office with no warning or chance to resource....unsequenced, unsegregated and still bagged up or we get late vans and 20 Yorks compressed into 15 so it fits the 600 but somehow we are supposed to still meet the "specification".

If if means going over your time either claim the ot or cut off, simples

It's down to machine availability and space. Apart from CSS machines the iLSMs, IMPs (and LSMs if any MCs still have them) will be needed for running 2C, Mailsort and DSA so the mail can't be sequenced if we run out of time. The space and frames where non mech stuff (manual letters, large letters and parcels) is done is needed again for 2C, Mailsort and DSA.

We have been told to deliver them tmrrw and get paid but no o/t ....but if it's busy and u have to carry some over into next day u won't b paid at all :(

We had ours on Monday and to get the payment we had to count them and tell Dom how many we had.

We had ours Tuesday. 3p per card. Rule of thumb for payment - how ever many delivery points you have then double that and x by 3p.

I dont see how anybody could claim overtime with poll cards/ election material. At 6p per card x2 per address x 600 delivery points. 72 quid for even an extra 2 hours work is pretty damn good.

6p a card? I want to come and work at your office, we only get 3p, been that way for years.

I personally believe that the whole "election material" issue needs a total revisit, the fact that some units get 6p or more per item and some only get 3p is a total sham, same people doing the same job? Poll cards, election propaganda for all parties,3 days for this, 7 days for that on top of all your NORMAL mail, it's a bit of a joke to expect "our people" to achieve this, what's the rush, 30 odd days to go to the dreaded 7th May, Poll cards shoud be allowed to roll over,other addressed/unadressed items the same whats the problem as ALL is delivered in plenty of time

Because it is our right to claim overtime in addition to election material, providing our claim meets the criteria.

Because Royal Mail charge political parties significantly more than this to put their electoral items into the postal system.

Sadly not all depots pay 6p per item, mine certainly does not, try 3p.

I have more than 600 delivery points too.

I also don't believe for a second, during the tight economic times of recent years when more 18+ "youngsters" will be still living with parents (or in multiple occupancy houses), that the average number of voters per house is 2. I suspect it is as least 3.

It is sad that some OPGs are being pressured to still do their lapsing during the election material spike in the delivery system, knowing full well the OPGs will go over by some margin. Like the price per item variance, the CWU need to be getting a better deal for its members on these issues (and an awful lot of other issues IMO).

I'd love to know why the union have allowed a situation where one office gets 3p per item and another office gets 6p per item.How can people in one office be paid double to people in another office, when they do the same job? Typical CWU/Royal Mail shambles.

Have been told by management at our office today that poll cards and election material which arrived today can only be delivered Mon-Fri, not Saturday. Strange considering we are off tomorow and Monday. Possibly he is worried that with the no O/T in place absortion would not be done......

Forced to take all polling cards today Saturday 4th April, breaking a National Agreement. Talk about making the rules up as you go along.
