Sceptical me says the ones handed in at office are opened and read, the good ones then get put in another envelope and sent off.

While the bad ones are kept hold of to try and identify the OPGs, for "future reference."

Are these surveys really confidential ? The ones I've had/seen in the past have "serial" numbers - which to me says that they aren't anonymous. The numbers might only, for eg, be traceable to a region/office - but using good old fashioned detective work wouldn't be difficult to link to an individual.

The numbers are to help build up a response rate for each office as you suggest. But if I may be so bold, when it comes to Race, Gender etc questions then the "prefer not to say" is an acceptable response.

Why do managers insist you fill them in? Our manager has been going round making sure everyone has taken part in it, what's it to them?

The shouldn't its voluntary. The theory is part of their bonus is based on the HYS response rate.

They shouldn't be, and with the serial number on both the questionnaire and the return envelope this would make the chances of this happening fairly low. I don't think they do this though.

If it's confidential, why does our office have to fill it in while the manager watches and reads what we write, when we say to take it home we are told we have not to fill it in. And when ur done writing the managers says they have to seal them. Doesn't seem very confidential

You can take them home,most of the managers are lying about this stuff.

because all those that have filled them in will have their names taken. then those that have not done it will be asked to fill them in can always refuse though.

Nope, I don't buy that, still, doesn't matter.........they won't ever get filled in and I'm still thinking about putting in an official complaint about it.

Nope, I don't buy that, still, doesn't matter.........they won't ever get filled in and I'm still thinking about putting in an official complaint about it.
