ok in that case no days should have been deducted from your annual entitlement

if they were front loading it as ronpetrevnchris was talking about then yes they do deduct days from the start of the year, but that method is only used by lazy doms who cant be bothered to work out whether a postie is off for 5 or 6 days in their office, they just assume everyone is off for 5 days every week regardless thus the need to deduct the extra days off from the guys on wally weeks

Ask the DOM to put it in writing exactly why you are not getting your full 30 days entitlement and as soon as he does that lodge a stage 1 grievance about it

cheers for that i will...but sorry to be a pain here,,but if they are front loading, why does that make you lose days.?? its like trying to work out chinese algebra this?

you all need to stop thinking in days ( for the 1 off in 3 crowd)

you do not lose any leave - just use more hours on the days/weeks you are off than the standard

if you work a 39 hour week and have leave you use 39 hours

if you work a 52 hour week and have leave you use 52 hours

As for the wallingtons

30 days leave on a 5 day week was 6 weeks leave

30 days leave on a 6 day week was 5 weeks leave

nothing lost just used differently

new system 4 weeks 3 days consisting of 8.40 days (6 days) 6 x 8.40 = 52 hours 52 hours x 4.5 = 234 hours annual leave

but on the new system you also have to add in your extra 13 weeks you have for your rest weeks

my annual leave card says 27 days entitlement. instead of 30... the 3 weeks i work 52 hours pays for my 4th week off. when i am on annual leave i am paid for 39 hours a week.not 52. the bloke who covers my week off is a floater who works the same pattern

Take a look at the link .The days/hours worked are the same over a 6 week Wallington. We argued for years in our office about our leave being reduced. Now many of us will do our utmost to claim back our lost days.
