This thread is actually quite embarrassing.
Nearly 4 years after the introduction of BT2010 you are trumpeting the revisions you have just got around to implementing.
4 years after learning from the cock ups and the mistakes of other areas.

And of course you can set your EP at such low levels because as you admitted in another thread, the business doesn't really now what to do with the surplus staff as it would cost too much to pay them off.
EP - 66% FFS

Why don't you start another thread explaining how you destroyed the CWU from within because that is surely what you have done?
The 17 days of strike action you crow about before BT2010 was settled by 2 (just two) days of national industrial action.
But be sure the rest of the country will never come to your rescue again.
CWU HQ knows it and that is why they have agreed a no strike clause.
The demise of the CWU rests at the feet of the London Division. Bravo. :Applause

N16 £1000 4 day week EP agreed 66%
Firstly, well done to the union for being able to get that sort of deal.

That agreement, if dingo hasn't made a typo, is so far away from mine and neighbouring offices, i wonder if we're in the same job sometimes.

motherhubbard says it like it is. Bravo :Applause

The thread is also a touch provocative. And it is nice to know that the usual suspects that the thread is aimed at are not biting... Cheers

Dingo.Theoretically speaking If London goes on strike in the future on their own and drags on for weeks with no sign of an end game, then if they agree they want to come back to work, could royal mail try to implement a change in terms and conditions (due to the strike) just for London.

We've just started IWM revision and they want 100BSI, I know my local offices that have done theirs is 88+%BSI, so I would like to know how the reps did this.

This is a very ill advised thread for a number of reasons not least its divisive nature and the fact that the information given is clearly commercially sensitive.
I'm not sure Royal Mail want everybody to know the levels of (in)efficiency in its North London operation.

And motherhubbard, perhaps a little harsh....but difficult to argue with.

There should by one single nationally agreed EP/BSI end state target for all units.

Mother hubbard for the record the union in 2009 asked everyone not to do revisions as Royal Mail had announced they were no longer to pay for change.

Too many offices done local deals on geo route for nothing.

London took a decision not to agree any revisions and if they took executive action then we would all go out. We did and we stood strong for 19 days.

Now we were not the only ones as some of Scotland, Bristol and a number of offices took action along with the VOCs.

The fact is there was a deal almost done before the 1st national date and then if you remember the union discovered the leaked Royal Mail document which was on news night how it was going to attack the union. The following day the CWU called the first national strike day and invited the press into a conference at cwu HQs.

If London and not taken the strike action that we did then the national dispute would have been longer. Remember even then it was an interim deal which allowed for longer talks. That interim deal allow for the resolutions to the executive action and we managed to get Royal Mail to move back.

Now it is laughable that you say London has led to the demise of the CWU. Look in 2003 when the rest of country voted no and Royal Mail were introducing the change to single daily delivery without agreement. Where was everyone else ? London took strike action which led to the longest unofficial action since the miners dispute some of us out for 3 weeks. That dispute was supported by places like Southend , Coventry , Warrington , Postmouth and it got the union back in the negotiating room. As a result the pay and major change agreement came out which paid people £26.28 for moving to one delivery and for the first time ever got delivery postmen and women a 5 day week. Tell me had London not got a yes do you think Royal Mail would have agreed this ?

So when I put up something which shows what you can do if you stick together as an area and force management to abide by the agreement , people should take their chips off their shoulder and demand the same.

The simple reason North London got those agreements is that management knew that unless they moved away from 100BSI and agreed a reasonable improvement then they would not get a revision in any part of North London and if Royal Mail choose to take executive action then they would be not just fighting North London they would be fighting London. Thats called Unity some of you may want to try it.

For the record I support any office in dispute and the times we have gone out because other mails have been moved into London is countless. But some of you would rather attack others who are standing up and forcing management to do what your complaining they are not then actually do something about it yourselfs.

It is not easy but you have to meet the members and explain that the only way they will gain concessions is by standing together. We work on that in London and we meet the members regularly and they prove they trust the union by supporting in ballots. 94% of those who voted on the strike ballot voted yes in London where some divisions did not get over 70%.

A very poor post. This does not give the true picture as the longer duties lets the DSMs absorb more here than anywhere else and are held up as shining lights in the savings community and this is all any of the operation managers at any level want to get a massive tick in the self preservation society.

Be honest how much do they absorb

Look why is it a poor post. How many posts do you get on claiming everyone is being forced to work beyond their time , or is working at 100 plus BSi or the office is collapsing without any facts. I then post the actual state of offices and then I am told it is in poor taste.

If all this site is going to be about is claims and counter claims then it will continue to be ignored by senior reps.

Not all offices are in the state that everyone on here claims. I agree that we need to stop any office which has bullying or is not working but lets be clear if you force management to stick to the national agreement you can get a good deal.

Now in terms of absorption they do their resourcing in line with the agreed process and they only resource against the agreed ep. That is in line with the agreement which Bob Gibson and Rob Jenson agreement.

Now you know why I don't give much credence to dingo, he lives in a different world to the rest of us, pours scorn on the rest of the country, spouts bullshit at will, becomes the union mouthpiece for crap agreements - AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T EFFECT London. It would appear they have two men for each delivery almost its no wonder managers are gobsmacked when they see how little the Londoners are doing in order to maintain their taxi driving jobs. :cuppa

I can't believe the flack Dingo is getting-what London have got is how all offices across the country should be implementing. The Reps have done a great job and maybe if other offices stuck together like London everyone would get a decent working environment. The agreements are there for everyone to use so don't get uppity and jealous just cos London are winners. We have stopped all revision activity in our office until we get what we want and agreements are abided by.If we don't get what we want nothing will be voted on by the membership (note the membership, not the union). It's not down to Area or Divisional reps to sign anything off without the members agreement, if they do report them to HQ. No other union in the country has the involvement in the workplace that we do, most offices have access to a rep almost immediately who confront management daily. If everyone stopped doing their own thing and stuck together we could have Utopia-like London!

You can only base your revision on either matching or improving your current performance.
How many offices outside of London have been allowed to operate at 66%?
We don't all have "plonkers" as managers.
