I think there might be something not entirely clear or missing in the understanding of the first post.
The poster was actually right in saying that people were treated differently... I guess the manager (as they do) will say that people should take out the lapse and do it first before the round; and most people will comply.
However, some will say that I might not have time so will like to do their lapse at the end; if there is time. This is when the manager tends to discriminate. Instead of making those on easier walks actually take out more lapse he will try to bully those that might not be able to finish to take out the lapse regardless.
The manager will probably have harassed the poster if he had not been able to do the lapse because there was no time. At the end of the day, the manager has probably gone home and that lapse delivery will have failed...
For the record, Tuesday was also a busy day in my office. That is on top of the fact that people do not like to start at 7.30am so most were in by 6.30am or before...

The phase 2 deployment of the Pay&Mod agreement allows for something called a Local Flexibility Plan.exetererica wrote:We must've been getting this wrong at our office too but we have no rep.
If someone leaves the office early, they need to make their hours up later in the week - I thought this was agreed??
There were various national framework guidelines within which the Local Flexibility Plan was supposed to sit. Some offices agreed plans that were outwith this framework including banking hours and "reverse flexibility" where members would take the time first and pay it back later in the week. Check with your rep to see if there is a Local Flexibility Plan that allows this and if there is give them a slap.
How valid would this local agreement be if it is outside national agreements?
Good question.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

If your only just getting back on time ,then get back 5-10 minutes late every day that you absorb instead. Then your lapsing can be done by early finishers.

Not a dig at the op, but tbh get fed up with the people watchers in our office, if they spent as much time working as they did watching others and moaning about other pairings finishing 10 mins earlier than them then they would get done a lot quicker! Notice they are quiet when they are finished first mind

Problem with these local agreements are that in many cases they have been signed off by a rep without any consultation with members, and very soon after the rep has become part of the management team. Pay & Mod and also BT2010 have been a total disaster for the Communications Workers Union Negotiators and the PEC who have consistently drawn up agreements that have larger holes in them than barn door openings. Sadly they have not learnt by their mistakes and the Channel Tunnel comes to mind with the latest one.fishtank wrote:The phase 2 deployment of the Pay&Mod agreement allows for something called a Local Flexibility Plan.exetererica wrote:We must've been getting this wrong at our office too but we have no rep.

Re: Is this a cause for a grievance?
Can anyone please help me out?
I'm a postie of 8years, I'm a holiday relief floater and cover two different batches. It has been 12 weeks since I've last had a Saturday off, never mind a long weekend. I'm growing very frustrated at this as every time a duty whose long weekend needs covered I'm taken off my weekly holiday relief and put on daily holiday relief. I really dont think this is fair and could be an equality issue. Any help with this matter would be very welcome. Thanks in advance
