You could enquire by all means, but i think you'll be laughed out the office in the same way i would.

The Leadership bonus is paid to the now called ' workplace coaches'.
Those given the task of training new starters etc.

I think we have just the one workplace coach at our office now, who gets his leadership bonus every week without doing a thing for 51 weeks of the year.

If your former PHG has a duty that includes being the workplace coach then that's the bonus being referred to.

I can't understand why anyone covering the duty would be eligible for that bonus, unless they also trained the new starters when they covered.

It's also possible that some offices may see this leadership bonus a nice incentive for anyone daft enough to want to work indoors and pay it as a so called 'PHG' bonus. But there is NO PHG bonus, or PHG role anymore - check with HR if you want.
I wish it did exist as like you i would be owed at least £10k.

Again it sounds like it's one rule for one office and another for the rest.

That's a different payment - £20 per week for anyone who was a PHG when the Way Forward came in and who didn't change to a ex-postman duty prior to 1st April 2002. It isn't related to what kind of work you do now

I'm a bit surprised that this payment hasn't been sold in a pay deal as those who get it have had £14,180 out of it so far. It's a bone of contention in units where people on exactly the same rotation are paid differently because some get the ex-PHG money and some don't

Thanks for the info mezza, my partner is our workplace coach, she get's the £30 extra a week.

I apply "rerospectively" for mine, as I was told, "Its Automatically Paid"... It wasnt.
So I apply, and then get it later...but its occasionally paid directly, usually too little, so I inform the Boss who rectifies it.
Dunno why its not National, seems sus to me overall.

Neither the locker, callers or book room get any allowance on the day shifts because there are managers in attendance, the OPG who receives the leadership allowance must supervise more than 5 staff whilst a manager is not in attendance usually the guy who supervises the afternoon collections staff and receives in the specials and deals with breakdowns etc.
