Another Week Extension On Strike Ballot

^^^ excerpt from above link - A week of intensive talks between CWU and Royal Mail reached its deadline today (Wednesday 20 November). Upon reaching this deadline the following statement has been issued:

'There has been further progress in the negotiations between Royal Mail and CWU. Accordingly, both sides have agreed to an extension of the ballot deadline to allow for talks to continue. This is the final extension and is agreed for a further seven days.

'The CWU postal executive will meet on Monday the 25th November to consider the detailed position and determine whether industrial action should be announced.'

There is no further public information at this time.

In a nutshell basically stuck on delivery details with RM continuing to say It doesn't exist - CWU negotiators saying basically "Dude's, we'll give you 7 more days to consider then if you don't accept it were all out"

Whilst I'm like many on here fed up with the total of the 7 weeks slippage by CWU, it seems that they have finally slammed the fist on the table and said "This is the final extension "

I'll take a back seat now and let them get on with it. It's easy for us all to get annoyed but we are not around the table and one has to imagine that it's taking so long as it really is a goods deal they are cutting but a very complex one at that - Let's see what happens Monday ( Is to there to be an announcement Monday ?? )

Pretty sure that this is the last opportunity for CWU to get it right. Make or break time for members that's guaranteed.

Get it wrong and member will leave in droves.
