Light Weight Trolleys Are Mandatory

Got an idea, why don't we all email moya on justsayit@royalmail.com. Complain about this issue and raise its profile. I've sent my emails before and got replies and the dom has to act. So the more that complain the better.
Those of you that are safety reps get in touch with your local HSE and get them to do something.

Why don't you also send a second copy to the CWU. Surely, they should be interested in our welfare, doing the job properly and maintaining jobs. Or it is just a case of getting an Agreement and then leaving it to the ''naughty'' posties to fend for themselves.

No one in my division will use a trolley and some even refuse to if asked these same people work there break and come in early. Which leaves me I use my lwt and do the job that way royal mail want me to do it. The result of this is I am bullied every day by my manager and told I go to slow as he compares me with them. These same people tell my manager they don't want to work with me as I'm to slow as they want to run around with a bag. Rep was of no help what so ever! Which now leaves me under pressure to not use my lwt and use a bag so I can finish on time and putting my h&s at risk.

I know exactly how you feel mate im not bullied everyday but i use the lightweight trolley take breaks don't start early etc ,but you always feel the odd one out

The real sting in the tale though is that I have lost my walk due to Lapsing,I'm getting moved all over the office & being put onto walks that,to put it bluntly ,aren't set up as they should be for P&L & for using a LWT. If the idiots stopped rushing & used the correct equipment then all this Absorbing would be a distant memory & I'd get my duty back!

I'm in the Union,voted YES & would never cross a picket line as it is against my principles,but it sticks in my throat that 99% of my office,who will be out on Monday will return on Tuesday,running around & cutting every corner going.

They can't see the error of their ways & as much as I try to concentrate on what I'm doing,I must admit it is really starting to do my head in!

Quite a lot of the users of this forum do "do the job properly" so they all understand the the grief and idle threats that appear because it takes longer. It is just be strong do your job as you are told and it takes what it takes, more people are waking up to the fact that the job is not the same as pre bt2010 and people are cutting their own jobs and creating more work for themselves. People really can be their own worst enemies sometimes especially in 'sheeple mode'. I think it will take either people conducted for not using them ( I think there is an unwillingness for this on rm part). Possibly a claim for bad backs post bt2010 will up their game.

They are mandatory as agreed with RM/CWU.
The idea is take the weight of your shoulder and save you from injury as a result of carrying pouches. Also using two pouches on your trolley you take packets, therefore covering the ground once, which is more efficient.

Where the result is that your duty is too big, cut off and let management fix it. Its not for the postman to make it work.

Have just photographed a postie with his mountain bike, grey tray tied to it. Tried to tell them about no insurance etc. Have contacted RM, doubt anything will get done. Problem is day off cover is being harassed for not being able to clear the duty.

He wouldn't get much in the tray though surely?

The postie is in a van with a LWT, or should be. So refills the box from the back of the van. My fellow workers today, did a full day, whilst said postie was done 2 hours before any of us. It totally sucks.
