The problem with that Jane is the rally is Monday at 12 and if we then extended to the end of the early shift we would have VOC drivers back in work taking work to Mail centres , plus we have delivery offices within Mail centres. This likely to be the first of a number of strikes and they won't all be on Monday.

That gives me hope dingo that this ballot and acceptance by the members won't be wasted.

The Christmas period is always a difficult issue.
It is a money-spinner for RM and the union have never said that destroying RM (the hand that feeds) is their intention.
The members find the financial losses caused by striking that much harder to bear at Christmas.
The majority of us still see ourselves as public servants and we have no desire to see a DO full of Christmas Cards and children's toys on the 24th December.

who is talking peace?? ive never heard it. i know our lot are all up for a xmas strike. if they ease of the 'gas' this chrimbo they'll risk losing the members.

Quite right we need to stay the distance and striking over christmas is our best time there is no point having peace talks

I agree so what exactly is going on here?
There is a very small window of opportunity for "the first of a number of strikes" before a real and serious impact on Christmas deliveries.
I hope the people who know what they are doing....know what they are doing.
