Listening to Dave, he appeared to suggest it was one day of action to be followed by a possible boycott of competitor's mail.
Maybe I misunderstood.

At the same time as announcing a 24 hour strike, the CWU today has announced they will carry out a second ballot asking workers to support action less than strike action, to carry out a boycott of competitors' mail.

Dave Ward added: "On top of a strike, the union will seek a mandate from members to carry out the boycott of competitors' mail. In law, this needs a separate ballot and we will commence the procedures for this at the earliest opportunity. The boycott will be used to supplement strike action. Royal Mail needs to reach an agreement with us now and avoid the consequences of these two types of action from postal workers."

So possible ongoing strike action supplemented by a boycott of DSA (and an overtime ban) all in the run up to xmas?

I think that's the plan.
Maximum disruption.
Minimum loss of pay.
Although how RM will react to a boycott will be interesting....suspensions?

what happens i wonder if you are a tuesday to saturday? the boycott of DSA we should have done years ago. I remember in about 2002 we got about a row of a rack. Now we get about 40 odd racks of DSA. We didn't actually believe DSA would replace mail sort 2.
