A responsible position from the CWU which tells Royal Mail that they have till the 28th October to reach an agreement or we will be serving notice for strike action and also balloting for the boycott of competitors mail and possibly an overtime ban.

That would be a wise move by cwu, balloting to boycott dsa on top of the strike and an overtime ban would have royal mail against the wall.

Is a Monday the best/most effective day to strike for delivery staff.
Wouldnt the backlog just get cleared on a Tuesday pretty easily.
Or was that the thought process to minimise pressure on staff next day.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

The purpose of the 4th November is to have the biggest march of postal workers since 1971. Now you have to also remember Monday has the biggest workload in an RDC and biggest outward. Mail Centres biggest day is Tuesdays. However lets remember that it is the start of the christmas parcels season and a big computer game is due out that week as well which will cause news.

What utter rubbish! What it does mean is that it is more difficult to count on the resolve of members and gives ROYAL MAIL more time to prepare and bombard the employees with even more anti-strike bumph - did you get your Courier Special today? :evil/mad Royal Mail have had ample time since April to make an acceptable offer and have failed! Is this how the CWU respond to overwhelming support from its members - FFS do not squander the opportunity to make that support count.
