It'll probably be rolling functions like before (each function for one day), if I had to guess I'd say:

Day 1: Logistics (MC to MC or MC to RDC)
Day 2: Mail Centres (Processing)
Day 3: Mail Centres (Distribution/Logistics MC to DO)
Day 4: Deliveries

Collections would depend on if the person who does them is tagged to an MC or DO

If we go for this rolling strike business again then our MC will likely be out on unofficial action when our drivers get suspended for refusing to cross the picket lines at the DOs. This is exactly what happened in the last strikes

I have now k979 but I didn't then, I had two children at school, a mortgage, rates, water, gas, electric and all the ancillary costs of running a home and family and me as the single wage earner but it was a question of principle not wealth - was it difficult yes of course it was and it takes a considerable time to recover. We didn't have a car or foreign holidays - actually any holidays - when I had to take holidays I'd do odd jobs for cash and worked 6 days a week and as much overtime as I could get. Oh and for your info the balls are the same size but they hang a bit lower - erm well a lot lower

I think there will, if it doesn't happen things will become very tricky. Lots of areas will seek an individual ballot and strikes will be sporadic but nevertheless disruptive, but best to have a national series of stoppages and get it over with.

I just think some members want a strike more than the Union hierarchy. Given that some people here are hell bent on a strike and will fail to recognise a good deal even if one is presented, the whole thing is getting a it mucky and unwise.

I do not think there will be a strike - of course, the ballot will be a a YES.

As for sporadic strikes, what will that be all about?

It is telling that some are so cynical that they do not even believe the 3 year guarantee of protections. (the govt still have shares in the business after all) And people want far more than above inflation pay increases - something that teachers and nurses and local government workers are not even close to getting.

Lastly, I chuckle at dvbuk55 statement when he said, we should just Strike and get it over (and then carry on as usual)... That is just what it is about for some people - some level of disruption and proving that we should be reckoned with.

Whatever happen, we cannot stop privatisation (sorry TBT) but the best we can hope for is a 'good deal' - what is a good deal?

The CWU have already blown it, they have no clear objectives that they are trying to achieve. There will be some IA, then the CWU will accept a minor superficial improvement, probably a lump sum based on further conditions. Members will become even more disillusioned and then we will be in an even weaker position in 3 years time when the real fight will begin.

The average postie doesn't even know what we will be striking for, it's just a protest against privatisation for most. The CWU is just stomping its feet but it's too late now.

A no result will make things even worse, so it's a no win situation.

I was merely pointing out that, until the ballot result is known, and a strike is called, there is no guarantee.
Even then, it can be called off, if they get together and talk.

I am the average postie and I sure know why I voted YES for better T&C , maybe some folks need to just get on here and read a bit , We are the CWU if there is not a yes vote then Union headquarters wont go ahead with the strike without a yes vote, But read other threads and it tells you how other Delivery offices for the last 2 months have gone out on strike already
because of RM heavy handedness

Read the link about City link folks being driven to take up Zero hours contract, well that will come to us if RM get there way
