That's pretty much the feeling in my office.

In 20 years we've gone out as asked but the last round was a total waste of time, a day here and a day there doesn't stack mail up, we should of gone out for longer.

And when it was all done we lost our household payment and gained bigger delivery's , yeah that was really worth it well done billy & dave.

If we strike this time what exactly do we hope to gain? that we scare investors away because we're so militant? strike or no strike we will be floated and jobs will go, although if the uso stays and we still deliver/collect everywhere 6 days a week not sure how there going to cull staff?

I can't believe that this is gona happen and people are just gona take it lying down. Amazing stuff. Don't believe what the media tells you. That is all. All this, oh it's already done, there's no point striking, that is what the media is feeding us today. And if anyone believes this share thing is gona be a good thing, well, you can't even get your shares for 3 years, by then they might well be worthless, even then, say they're worth £1k-£2k, well you'll probably have lost that much by then in pay/conditions cuts and extra workload.

This stuff really angers me, it's so sad to see this 'just happening'. The Tories want us to go back to Victorian times by looks of things, slaves and masters, the whole nation will be on £6-£7 an hour by the time that lot have finished.

Like i said i've worked for this company for 23 years and been out on every strike, however what do you think we'll achieve by striking this time?

The shares don't come into who gives a f**k about £1000 worth of shares, job security is the main topic for my office and strike or no strike we are going to be floated, and down the line when the universal agreement is renegotiated jobs will go.

Do you really think billy and dave are capable of stopping this, bear in mind the wonderful job they did last time where us the workers ended up getting less pay and doing bigger deliveries.

Billy and Dave need us not the other way, as more and more posties leave the union , the cwu takes in less money and becomes less powerful, and i'm really not sure the cwu have much clout now.

How can you give a counter argument to "Striking won't make any difference"?

There is nothing in that argument other than your opinion so the counter argument is "Yes it will" which nobody can prove so Ill go with the alternative counter argument of "I really don't care,I would still rather fight and lose than run away...and lose".
