Overtime after strike action

This has come up before after strike days, you are not allowed to book any overtime to help clear the backlog; suits me down to the ground as i never want to do overtime.

However i do feel it is petty of them and in my opinion willfull delay by Royal Mail not to do everything they can to get the mail delivered.

But as usual one rule for them and !!!!

At my office weekend overtime was on and off twice. Off announced eventually some people didn`t hear the announcement so it will get more peoples backs up.

I am almost sure RM have decided to cancel the Sunday working at our office(Watford)all s/a,so that'll go down like a lead balloon,i could see that coming a while ago,RM are hardly going to let us strike till noon on Saturday,then do o/t Sat & Sun only to strike again on the Monday.

That'll save them even more money.The S/A's are contracted so can they do that?

well i spoke to my DUM this morning on the line and as its my turn to do sunday collections asked if they are still going on he said yes and i should attend for work

prob will do to make up some of the money i lost over the next 4 days but he prob tell me tomorrow he will cancel sunday collection can they do this as its S/A

personally i think its VITAL to follow up the strikes with a strict no-go on OT lads, its ridiculous to go helping them out after a strike, totally defeats the point. with the 4 days then the continuous rolling strikes and NO OT!!!! and ..do your job properly.......... they may crack!!!!

just a thought i rather a strike supporter done some OT to help him out between strike days then the strike breakers grabbing it all but i understand all the previous comments and apart from S/A i certainly wont be doing O/T come wed and the following days

Could'nt agree more,i have not done any o/t for 10 weeks,we have very little anyway........one thing that does anger me are the casuals and agency workers,it would be good if we could stop them from working during IA to start with,then at a later get rid of them altogether and employ more full time staff which means more union members.

i will start work at 6.00 next wednesday and have me break and work till im due to finish. if any mail left i bring back. any problems with that ???
